Browser-Based
Responsive Web, Not a Native App
Daytona Spin runs as a browser-based responsive site rather than a downloaded native iOS or Android app. The site adapts to mobile screens via standard responsive web design — Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android, and modern browsers on tablets all render the full slot lobby, live-casino floor, and sportsbook with the same login and wallet as desktop.
Why responsive web rather than native:
- App-store gambling restrictions make native distribution difficult — Apple's App Store and Google Play both apply strict rules to real-money gambling apps that limit availability in many markets
- Faster updates — changes ship immediately; no App Store review delay between operator updates and player access
- Cross-platform — one codebase covers iOS, Android, desktop, and tablet without per-platform engineering
- No sideloading — Android players don't need to manage APK files or enable unknown-sources installation
Trade-offs vs native apps:
- No push notifications to lock screens (web apps have limited push capability on iOS)
- No biometric authentication — Face ID / Touch ID work via browser autofill rather than native hooks
- Less polished gesture and haptic feedback than a custom-built native app
- iOS PWA reliability can degrade after major OS updates
